What if it rains?
This is Holland, so sometimes it rains but most of the time it’s dry. In case of rain during the tour, our guides will find shelter, have a nice chat about local history, nature, the meaning of life, etc. Before you know, the rain has passed and you are on your way again. In the less common cases, when the rain does not stop in a short period of time and is not heavy, your guide will offer rain ponchos and the tour will continue.
When the weather forecast is really bad (rain storms, thunder etc.), we have to cancel our tour for safety reasons. In this case we will pay your refund.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes, we do. Please contact us about your plans and we will be happy to accommodate you.
Can everyone join a tour?
We cycle at a leisurely pace and make frequent stops at interesting destinations along the way. You don’t have to be an athlete, but you should at least be comfortable handling a bike and have a basic fitness.
What about safety on the road?
Your safety is our priority number one. It is your guide’s responsibility to look well after you. Our routes have been carefully planned to minimize risks. We will mainly take the quieter roads, bicycle lanes and alleyways Please give way to local cyclists, motorbikes and thrishaws. We offer helmets, wearing them is voluntary.
Do you have bamboo bicycles?
Yes we are building a fleet of bamboo bicycles. But at the moment we just have a few. You will ride on our so-called ‘reCycles’: We recycle discarded bikes as we think it’s a waste to simply throw them away. We only replace worn-out parts, fix them up and give them a new, contemporary look. Good to go for another 35 years at least!
What should I bring and wear?
Comfortable, breathable clothing with nothing long that will get caught up in the bike and become an emergency brake. Most parts of our route have lots of shade, but those who sunburn easily may want to wear a hat or grow lots of hair. Sunblock is available. Covered shoes with sturdy soles are recommended, but comfortable sandals with supportive soles are fine too. We do not recommend flip-flops.
What is your cancellation policy?
In line with the latest international industry standards we have moved to a 24-hour standard cancellation policy. Under this policy, customers will be able to cancel their bookings 24 hours prior to the tour date for a full refund. If customers cancel within the 24 hour period, there is a 100% cancellation fee.
