Bike Tour New Dutch Waterline2019-09-03T17:18:52+02:00

An amazing bike adventure around Utrecht

Your bike ride conveniently starts in downtown Utrecht. We’ll be waiting for you at a small bridge named “Weesbrug” at Oudegracht 245. Here we will fit your bike and brief you about the tour. If you have little cycling experience, no worries. We will make you feel comfortable and have helmets available.

We start daily at 9 AM and 1:30 PM. First you will catch a glimpse of the historical centre of Utrecht. Although the city has much to offer, we prefer to show you its hidden gems. Avoiding heavy traffic as much as possible, we will mainly take the quieter roads, bicycle lanes and alleyways. On the outskirts of town, you will quickly discover the four forts of Lunetten. We will grab the opportunity to give you brief introduction in the New Dutch Waterline, our largest and most impressive national monument. When we continue, you will see different types of shelters and bunkers. As we continue, you will visit more forts – each highlighting a different aspect of the waterline. Keep your eyes open, as many forts are deeply tucked away in the green with its rich flora & fauna. You might even see eclectic kingfishers, birds of prey, a foxes or roe deers. Meanwhile, just enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the countryside and its imposing farm houses.

About halfway we take a coffee break at beautiful teahouse, beautifully located at the banks of a small river. Here you can also find a clean toilet.

After having pedalled nearly 4 hours, covering some 25 kilometers, we will be back at the same place where your adventure started: the Weesbrug.

Our bicycle tours are perfect for people who want something special, a memorable experience. We will take you off-the-beaten track. We only ride in small groups at a leisurely pace with professional guides. Would you like a tailor-made or a private tour? Sure we can, just send us an email or a message using the contact form.
